We also analyse how users interact with our site, to understand better the ways we can improve our services to enhance customer experience.
Information is collected:
- When you place an order and select us to fulfil your delivery from a partnered store
- When you contact us directly via email, phone, post or message
- When you browse our website
We may also collect your information from other third-party sites, such as advertising platforms.
3.1 Direct Information: When you interact with us, we may receive and store information you enter. This may be through our website or other technology or services we provide. This may include the following information: Your name, contact details, delivery address.
3.3 Third Party Information: We work with participating retailers to provide a partner scheme. Through this scheme, we may receive and store information you provide to our participating partners, if they offer our technology and services, and if you select to have us fulfil the delivery of your product from them. The information we receive from our partners may include, but not limited to; your name, contact details, delivery address, order details.
3.4 Indirect Information: Additionally, to any information provided directly by you or through one of our Partner Retailers, we and our third-party service providers may use technologies that automatically (or passively), collect certain information whenever you use our technology and services (“Usage Information”).
3.4 Mobile Devices: If we provide a mobile device application, then when you download or use the Samdai application, we may obtain information about your location and your mobile device (including a unique identifier for your device), which we would use to provide you with services, such as the estimated time of delivery. Most mobile devices allow for geolocation to be turned off through the phone’s settings.
4.1 Samdai staff, authorised advisors and/or contractors will be granted access to user information, only if there is necessary reason for doing so, and if that reason is acceptable under data protection law. We may need to process your information to provide you with the services you have selected or to enter into a contract; we have gained your consent; we have a justifiable reason for processing your data; or we are under a legal obligation to do so.
4.2 We engage with partner retailers and/or individuals to preform functions using our technologies and services on our behalf. Examples include fulfilling orders, delivering packages, website hosting, data analysis, marketing assistance and providing customer service. These individuals will have access to information needed to perform their functions only and may not use it for other purposes. Generally, personal information supplied from partner retailers for service fulfilment is used to arrange shipping, provide invoices and/or order confirmations, communicate with you and to screen for potential risk or fraud.
4.3 We process your data where we have a justified reason for doing so. The reasons are listed below:
- To improve the efficiency and quality of service that our customers receive from us in the future
- To shape content that we or our partner retailers display to you, for example showing you stores which are in your local area.
- To allow our customer support team to contact you to help you with any enquiries or complaints in the most efficient way possible
- To collect your views and opinions on our services and to notify you if there are any changes or developments to our site or services, including letting you know that our services are effective in a new area, where you have asked us to do so.
- To analyse your activity on our site and when using our technology to administer, support, advance and progress our business and for statistical and analytical purposes and to help us to avoid fraud.
- To enforce our contractual terms with you and any other agreement, and for the exercise or defence of legal claims and to protect the rights of Samdai, partner stores, contracted deliverers, or others (including to prevent fraud); and
- If you submit comments and feedback concerning us and our services, we may use such comments and feedback on our site and technology in any marketing or advertising materials. We will only identify you for this purpose by your first name and the city in which you live.
When using Samdai, specified information may be stored locally on your computer’s hard drive or mobile device through cookies or other similar technologies such as web beacons. Cookies are small text files that allow websites to recognise users through limited information. This information allows us to understand how and when our technology is used and by how many users.
Cookies can be used to personalise your experience, saving you time by storing certain information. This information may include, but not be limited to, device model, service provider, manufacturer, country and city location.
6.1 Your personal information will not be held for longer than is legitimately needed for ongoing business purposes. Your personal information will be held for as long as needed to meet the points highlighted in section ‘4.0 Using Your Information’, until we believe there is no legitimate interest or for a period required by appropriate laws or regulations.
6.2 Where there is no ongoing legitimate business need for your personal information, your information will be securely erased from our databases.

7.1 Our third-party services providers and partners – These may provide data processing or analytics services to us (for example, improving functionality, aiding delivery, or helping increase security on our website), or another service described within this privacy notice.

Any personally identifiable information requested by us for certain purposes, will be provided the option to be “opted out” of. This may include communications from us, removal of your personal information from our working database and removing your name from future communications. This can be completed by contacting us directly. Participating retailers and partners may have their own opt-in/opt-out policies for communications so please check their respective policies.

We make sure the personal information we keep on you is appropriately protected and safeguarded against unauthorised access, unlawful handling, accidental loss and/or damage. Although every effort is taken to protect your personal information, no method of transmission of information over the internet is completely secure.
